HEY WAGNER, THANKS FOR SHARING ON HOW TO CHANGE THE BATTERY ON THE SEBRING. I BOUGHT A 2005 SEBRING, AND NOT HAVING THE BATTERY IN THE FRONT ENGINE SECTION OF THE CAR, IS NOT PRACTICAL AND HAVING THE BATTERY WHERE THE TIRE IS AT IS SO INCONVENIENT & A PAIN IN THE ASS ! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR WHERE THE BATTERY IN WHERE THE TIRE IS AT, & ONE HAS TO TAKE THE WHOLE DAMNED TIRE OFF JUST TO EXCHANGE THE DAMN BATTERY! I UNDERSTAND WHY YOU SAY YOU HATE IT, BECAUSE I HATE IT TOO!! DAMN CHRYSLER!

Chrysler fucked everyone who bought one of these. Shop charge an extra 50-100 bucks for the labor on this shitty car.

I knew I would find somebody posting a how to video to install battery…many thanks

  5. dondondokken says:

@petedesimone nowadays a battery will usually last 5-7 years max. on a gasoline engine car. It’s very rare, but a battery may last over 15 years.

Thanks for the video, I have a 2000 sebring convert, I bought it used and it still has the original battery . I am planning on changing before the cold hits, I know I am pushing my luck at 11 years so I will change. How long can a battery last ? I may spend some extra bucks on a Diehard since this job looks like a real pain and would hate to get stuck on the road. thanks again

Doesn’t matter what kind of battery you buy they are all made from the same factory JCI!

Thanks for the video! The battery just gave out in our 2001 Sebring and we had no idea where to start. This video is so helpful! For course, now we’re bummed that this will turn out to be a royal pain in the butt… lol.

@anthonyv6612 How you gonna hate on a car when you obviously know absolutely nothing about it? There is a fuse box at the top to jump start it, dumbass.

  11. Moooperator says:

Thanks… this is a big help… I’ll do this in the morning. Funny that the manual said you don’t have to take the wheel off just turn it all the way to right. No Way! The tire has to come off.

This was very helpful. Replaced my battery today in 30 minutes. Screws at top of access panel are the same size at battery terminal so tools needed are minimal..Pliers and flat blade screwdriver for snaps, just pull the center pin out first and snap comes out easily. Lug wrench and jack. Then a socket for the battery clamp.

Factory battery lasted from original car purchase in spring of 2004 until last night, August 2011 so I guess the location away from the heat really works. Thanks wagner

Your video on your Sebring has helped A LOT on trying to get the battery out on our Cirrus. The only difference I saw is that the plastic panel on the Cirrus was at least 50% less of a pain in the ass then on your Sebring. I was able to get the battery out by just turning the wheels all the way to the left. Thank you for your video.

    @anthonyv6612

There are posts under the hood for you to connect jumper cables so that you don’t have to uncover the battery for a jump start you idiot.

  16. anthonyv6612 says:

wtf how do jump start it if battery dies, u gota take car apart, piece of shit car

  17. Mr1abruzzo says:

Figures Chrysler makes Sxxt Cars…..my Sebring 2007 has the batter in the same spot still and of course you tell the dealership you have a problem you hear in the front and they dont hear or see anything wrong….So you keep on driving till you stall out and when you get a jump start the Alternator starts to glow red…..should have driven it and let the damn thing catch fire…..could have then Bought a FORD. In the end alternator replaced and battery also since it got fried…900 $ rip off.

@Iambigcougar Just changed the battery for the first time on my 02 sebring since new; the battery lasted nine years! That’s pretty good considering that the average life span is 5 years? Definetly not user friendly.
