@kaunas88 I didn’t mean you absolutely need to visit a college to learn something. I’m talking about a college-level education which can be acquired in many ways. However, having a degree will generally make finding a job easier so it really isn’t wasted money.
@soad19152003 But not if someone owes a crushing insurmountable debt burden she cannot.
@Miranox2 Absolutely not true. Many majors are next to worthless. So much of college is not useful in the workplace. Even if people do learn something there, most of it can easily be acquired by other much much cheaper sources like books, internet and working. Much of college is simply a luxury and an indigence that a lot of people cannot afford.
@gamerfromcanada Yes
@Kingdom007Hearts. In Spain college is almost free, and it also is submediocre filled with people who have jobs for life, big classes and limited funds because the government pays for it all. In France the teaching is a bit better but many of the campus buildings look like something out of Detroit due to lack of money. How are we supposed to pay for free college for everyone? We are beyond broke now.
@110301839 People have no idea what they are getting into, and unfortunately because of our sentimentality soaked society people are trained to feel rather than think critically. Also the endless self esteem movement gives a lot of people an unrealistic perspective on their future possibilities. Young people are told to go to college no matter what the cost and everything will work out fine…until it does not.
The problem is that everyone around her (government, media, councilors) her whole life kept saying the mantra that going to college is the best thing she could do, so don“t worry about the cost especially if she went to a decent school. Just take out a loan and everything will work out fine after graduation. She did just that and now has a worthless sociology degree, and a lifetime of debt slavery.
@biped19 I had the same experience. Much better, way smaller classes, students actually cared about school, and it was easier to get questions answered directly from the professors. When I went to finish my engineering degree at a “prestigious” college, the classes were huge, like over 200 people, the professors weren’t any better, and many of the students just didn’t care, they were just there like it was a continuation of high school.
STUDENTLOANSESCAPE . COM
The education I received at my junior college was better than the “prestigious” four-year institution I transferred to finished my degree. Support your local universities.
@UnhappyDreamer That’s what I’m doing. It works because the one I plan to attend is the one I wanted to go to. I’m also going to apply for the scholarship that the school offers first (merit), but if I don’t get it, I have that paying plan as a backup (between my family paying for it during the school years and me working part-time over the summers that should take care of most of the debt). I also want to take a year off before pursuing higher degrees which are offered at the same school.

I’m with Ana on this one. It’s fine to go to college, if you want to and you think it will benefit you personally, but you really do have to have a good plan for it. I’m planning to go to college in a couple years, I know it’ll be costly, so I’m planning to go to my local state uni (which is my dream school anyway) and have my parents pay for it during the school years while I work part-time over the summers. I want to go full-time and work hard but have fun and strike a balance. That’s the key.
Here in Australia, the best unis are public, and private are left for those who didn’t have the marks to get into the public ones.
Everyone also gets interest free loans from the government, which you then pay a percentage of your income after reaching a certain threshold. Uni fees are not only capped but subsidised, because here in the land down under we truely believe in education for all.
WARNING: UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA STUDENTS! What are you thinking?
Please join the move to oust Dr. Amy Gutmann, at the UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA, from her position as president, because in this economy, money is a terrible thing to waste.
Newtons third law: For every UPenn student who frowns at $100,000 worth of crushing student loan debt, there is an Amy Gutmann smiling all the way to the bank with a million dollar salary.
Two words: Ana’s tits
@Lukachicago19 Its called getting a degree in worthlessness
@iamsean90 Forget Law. There are too many lawyers out there as it is. I’ve read about a girl with a law degree who can’t find a job for 2 years now. It’s really discouraging now .
This chick should suck it up, u have to be more than stupid to get your ass into a huge debt like that just for a college degree. Kids these days wanna go to expensive colleges,party like crazy, spend the way they want to, take trips to can cun and expect us to pay for their shit, let her go whine somewhere else
tyt forever
@pinkpumpkinn I go to CSUN too!!!
@TruthDevours
LOL. Did you short it out?
Wow, awesome idea for a website. It’s a shame though, like you said, that people will pay to see T&A but not to help someone solve a REAL problem. Kelly Space needs to check out the University DecisionsSuccess Yearbook – there’s $10,000 to help her pay off her loans!
@darkgospell i found wonderfull things. they were in a nice soft valley
